Tea Plantation: Shihjhuo, Alishan, Taiwan

Elevation:
1300 meters

Our oolong tea is cultivated on our family tea plantation located in Alishan, at 1,300 meters above sea level in Taiwan. Alishan is often referred to as the Champagne region of oolong tea and is considered one of the highest-quality sources of oolong in the world. Our family has been growing high mountain oolong tea in this region for three decades.

The mineral-rich soil, abundant rainfall, and significant temperature variations between day and night allow the tea leaves to grow slowly. These factors are key to the high quality, softness, refinement, and aromatic features of the oolong tea produced there.

Each tea leaf is hand-harvested by local tea harvesters during the four short harvesting seasons each year. Processing oolong tea requires specialized techniques, years of experience, and intuition to adapt to the varying conditions of the tea leaves and weather during the processing period.

Tea masters carefully monitor each stage of the tea-making process to ensure it is well-timed and seamless. Additionally, the Taiwanese government is involved in the tea growing and production process to ensure land sustainability and consistency in quality.

Steeping Guide
Tea bag
1. Use 1 tea bag.
2. Add boiled spring, mineral, or tap water after it cools down to 95°C/203°F - we don't recommend using filtered water or distilled water.
3. Steep for 3 to 5 minutes
- adjust the steep time based on personal preference on how strong the tea tastes.
- cover the tea with a saucer or a lid during steeping to retain the heat.
4. Remove the tea bag from the tea and save it for re-steeping up to 3 times.

Storage Guide:
Store the tea in an airtight container or a zip block bag, away from the sunlight, humidity, coffee, and spices.

Oolong tea is a traditional loose leaf tea that is integral to Chinese and Taiwanese cultures. Renowned for its unique and complex flavors, oolong tea has been savored for centuries, and serves as more than just a beverage - it's a cultural practice, an art form, and a symbol of hospitality.

Not only has oolong tea been valued for its health benefits throughout history, but its meticulous preparation process also represents cultural values of patience and harmony. Therefore, oolong tea is not merely a refreshing drink, but a valued tradition deeply rooted in its cultures of origin.
